Reverend Marianna Ery

I was born in the southern part of India in the State called Andhra Pradesh. I speak the language called Telugu, which is my mother tongue. I have two brothers and one sister. We lost our dad at an early age. I my mom is at home being taken care of by my younger brother. All my family members live in India.

I had my early education in Catholic schools. I graduated from Loyola College, Vijayawada, which was run by the Jesuits. I started my Seminary studies in 1979 at Sacred Heart Seminary, Chennai. The Seminary was run by the Don Bosco priests who are well known for training priests for India. The staff members were very good and nice. I, together with my classmates (25 of us), had a lot of fun and a great time learning many things from the staff, both for our personal life and for our future ministry. I can't forget the wonderful memories we, as a class, had throughout our training.

I was ordained as a priest on April 28, 1987. I have served as a Pastor at different parishes in my own diocese (Kadapa) for the past 18 years. My diocese is a mission diocese (South India) and has 125 priests in 55 parishes and other social, pastoral and educational institutions. Coming to the U.S. is a great opportunity for me to know a different culture, experience the faith of the people and gain more pastoral knowledge for myself. This helps me to be an effective minister of Christ in the future.

Reverend Andrew Skrobutt

Father Andrew Skrobutt was born in Chicago and grew up in the Winfield/Wheaton area. He is a graduate of St. John the Baptist Grade School in Winfield and an alumni of St. Francis High School in Wheaton. Father received his B.S. in Chemistry from Illinois Benedictine College (now Benedictine University) in Lisle, Illinois. He first worked for a small surfactant company in Chicago called McIntyre Group, Ltd. for two and one-half years as a quality assurance chemist. From there he was employed at the Keebler Company in Elmhurst for four and one-half years in their corporate laboratory. After that he worked for a cheese company in Wisconsin called Grande Cheese for four and one-half years at their corporate facility.

It was in Wisconsin that Father Skrobutt received his call to the priesthood. While working there he found it difficult being alone and started doing more church oriented things to meet more people. He volunteered one day a week at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He became an Extraordinary Minister and started doing an hour a week in Eucharistic adoration. Through adoration and Marian consecration his whole life changed.

Within that period he got his call to priesthood and wrestled with the idea for about three years until he came to accept his new calling from God. Within that time frame he checked out religious orders but through discernment did not feel called in that direction. He then looked into the diocesan priesthood. His spiritual director was ordained by Bishop O'Neil. This connection lead him to the Rockford Diocese. He interviewed with Father Aaron Brodeski, Vocations Director, and entered the Rockford Program in August 2001. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 20, 2006 and assigned to Holy Angels Parish.
